News About my www.hollydurrart.com
I have decided to shut down my wholesale site, because it is getting hard to maintain it and my website. Don't worry I will not be closing down my main site. My wholesale site wasn't bringing in anything even though I had stores online carrying my art. It is hard for some online stores to get business. I thank God everyday for all the orders I get every month.
I have been going through a lot of old art and I have decided I will be releasing them on my site sometime in the near future. I don't have enough new work to release on my site, but I am working on it just about everyday. I do have art for all the new galleries, but three. I will try to get some work finished for those galleries as soon as I get time.
My "Women in the Bible" gallery is one of the galleries I don't have any work for yet. I want to draw Eve, but can't seem to get motivated to draw her. I think as I add more and more to this gallery I will release them in affordable sets of printed ACEOs, so my customers can collect all of them. ACEOs are a good way of collecting your favorite artist's artwork, because they are the size of a baseball card 2.5 inches x 3.5 inches and they will fit in baseball card pouches. I have seen a lot of open and limited addiction ACEOs on the internet. Some are expensive while others are not.
Things that have been on my Mind
A lot has been on my mind lately. I have been thinking about what I really "Want" to draw and what I really "Don't Want" to draw. I don't care much for drawing Fairies (except my Hillbilly Fairies). I'm not really into fairies that much. When I do draw them it is usually to sell them on eBay. Fairy art used to be a unique rare thing when I was growing up. Now it's everywhere. I've always been the kind of person that tried not to follow in the same direction as everyone else. Though I feel like lately I have been dragged into the whole fairy thing. I am trying to get away from it. I have met a lot of artist that enjoy drawing fairies, and they do lovely work. I just don't enjoy and don't have the desire to draw them much anymore.
I kind of enjoy drawing mermaids. You don't see a lot of them like you do fairies. Though I notice that more and more people are collecting them on eBay. I draw a lot of ACEOs of mermaids. They have been good sellers for me on eBay. There are more and more artist drawing them on eBay. I will be drawing some larger pictures sometime in the future, but I will only be drawing about one or two a year, because my main focus is my Angel Art.
Dragons are ok, but I'm not planning on doing a lot of them. I will be doing an ongoing project of Dragons with my step-son, but I probably won't be doing any large one's of my own unless I get inspired. I will however be drawing some for eBay here and there. There isn't a lot of Dragon art on eBay. I will only be bringing out One to two of these a year.
I love drawing Unicorns. I always loved drawing Unicorns ever since I was little. All of my unicorn pieces I'm planning on doing will have a lot of detail into them. I will be bringing out a three or four of these a year, and they will have a angel in the drawing with them.
I will continue to draw my Hillbilly Fairies. I love everything about them, because they remind me of my childhood and all my good memories. I will be releasing several of these a year.
I will also continue to draw Fine Art. It's always good to have a balance for your site and local craft shows. Some of my collectors will only collect my fine art. I started out doing fine art and have become rather good at it. I know I have to stick with it.
Now to my favorite subjects "ANGELS". What can I say... I love drawing Angels and will continue to draw them as long as God gives me strength. I will be releasing traditional Christian Angel art along with New Christian Fantasy Art Angels. I want to get back into drawing and releasing mostly Angels. I have decided to start putting more backgrounds into some of my angel artwork. I will be putting a lot of scenery from West Virginia. I will be releasing as many angels as I get finished a year : )
